Amanda is passionate about helping young learners develop deep mathematical understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills from the very beginning of their educational journey.
As CIA's primary Mathematics Specialist, she creates engaging learning experiences that transform math from a subject students memorize into one they truly understand. With a strong background in elementary education, data-driven instruction, intervention support, and individualized learning, Amanda specializes in identifying where students are in their mathematical development and designing experiences that build lasting conceptual understanding, number sense, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving strategies.
She believes young children learn best through exploration, hands-on discovery, visual models, and meaningful conversations about their thinking. Amanda creates environments where students are encouraged to take risks, explain their reasoning, and view mistakes as opportunities for growth. Known for her nurturing approach, she helps learners develop both the competence and the confidence to become strong mathematical thinkers.
When children understand the why behind mathematics, they gain the confidence to solve problems they never thought possible.
